From the Book of Mormon

I was reading this morning about wicked King Noah and Abinadi. One of the priests of Noah, Alma, listened to Abinadi and believed. He hid himself and wrote down the words of Abinadi. Now, this has often struck me because I hear marvelous speeches in church and later that week, or even later that day, I cannot remember them.  Maybe I can remember a story I hear from the talk, but I cannot remember the specific words...... So, I am impressed that Alma could recreate the amazing words of Abinadi.   SO INSPIRING...but then, of course, he had the spirit of God to be with him to do so. I also am amazed at the church Alma set up.  So very many things that are in the church today.  WOW!  It all must be TRUE!

Trying to be obedient to President Nelson

Recently in General Conference President Nelson asked us to write down insight we get from the scriptures.  I want to do that.  Well, I NEED to do that. So, here is my first text on that subject. I was reading in Mosiah 10.  The writer describes that the Lamanites were WRONGED..wronged in the wilderness, wronged while crossing the sea, and wronged in the land of their first inheritance... That word really struck me because I realize why it is so hard to LOVE our neighbor; it is because we have been wronged.... Some way, Some how, In our minds, we have been wronged.  Thus, we find it difficult to love them. But, the truth is, as long as we are human, we will be WRONGED.  It's just the way life is. I must learn to not FEEL WRONGED.
